About Us

Opened in December of 2012, Unchartered Creativity was a dream and longtime vision of two Henry County Art Educators who's passion for art and education have come together to create a fun-loving community experience. Both John and Melissa Wood have brought their passion for art and the classroom experience to the community with creative and fun experiences for all ages at competitive prices. Whether you are an artist at heart or looking for a great activity to experience with friends, maybe a girls night out, "Unchartered Creativity" is the place for you.

We now offer private parties in the privacy of your own home. Get your friends together and throw a party.

About The Owners:

John Wood


John is an art educator of 21 years here in Henry County.  In 2008, he received his “Master of Art Education Degree” from Georgia State University with a concentration in ceramics and sculpture.  In 2001, he received his “Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree” from Georgia Southern University with a concentration in drawing and painting. He received his “Advanced Placement (AP)” certification from Oglethorpe University and holds a gifted endorsement/certification from RESA. He offers assistance for AP & GHP students (see calendar for details). Wood was also Henry County Teacher of the Year in 2014 and a finalist for State Teacher of The Year in 2015.  He sits on the State teacher Advisory Board (2015 to present). 

Melissa Wood

 

Melissa also is an art educator for 21 years here in Henry County Georgia. In 2000, she received her “Bachelor’s of Fine Arts” degree (BFA) from Georgia Southern University with a concentration in ceramics and sculpture. In 2011 she was honored in Henry County for her service with Recycling Bank and the community.  In 2012 she received a resolution from Georgia's Governor Nathan Deal for her service to the community, continued work with Recycled Bank and Henry County Schools. She currently is the Art/Ceramics Professor at AAS in Henry County.
